This policy explains what information Ask Simon ("we", "us") collects when you use the Ask Simon mobile and web applications and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Ask Simon is operated from Australia and built for Australian small businesses; we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name and email address when you sign up or sign in with Google or Apple.
- Business profile — the details you give Simon during onboarding (business structure, location, team size, industry, GST registration, revenue model) so answers can be tailored to your business.
- Conversations — the messages you exchange with Simon, so your history is available to you and so Simon can remember your context.
- Documents — files you choose to share in a conversation, stored so Simon can read and discuss them with you.
- Purchase status — your subscription state, handled by Apple, Google or our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
- Usage & diagnostics — basic product analytics and crash reports that help us keep the service fast and reliable.
How we use it
- To provide the service: generating answers, remembering your business context, and keeping your conversation history.
- To operate your subscription and free trial.
- To improve reliability and fix problems.
- To send essential service emails (such as sign-in verification).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or ad tracking.
AI processing
Your questions, business profile and shared documents are processed by large language model providers to generate Simon's answers. This content is used to answer you — not to build advertising profiles.
Where your data lives
Data is hosted with Amazon Web Services in the Asia-Pacific (Sydney) region. Some service providers (below) may process data in other regions.

- Apple App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat / Stripe — payments and subscription management
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
- PostHog — product analytics (where enabled)
- Expo — app updates and push notification delivery
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and associated data at any time — email us at the address below and we will action it within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted within our systems, and we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.
